How much labor is involved with the installation of an Infi-Shield® Unit?
A.) Typically, two laborers can install an Infi-Shield® External Uni-band or Seal Wrap on a structure or a pipe joint in approximately 5 minutes - labor is minimal and no special tools are required.

What seems to be the biggest problem in the construction field when using this product?
A.) Educating the first time user - as some are reluctant to try something new! Once the laborer works with the Infi-Shield® system, he soon becomes comfortable with the installation.

Your company has been in business since 1995, how are the early product installations performing?
A.) Our earliest product installations were made in 1992. The products are performing superbly. Although our products are relatively new to the industry, the components that make up our products have been used in the underground construction industry for over 30 years; EPDM rubber and Non-hardening Butyl Rubber Mastic. These products are commonly used as gasket and joint material and in the automotive industry (tires and hoses). The Infi-Shield® sealing system meets or exceeds ASTM Specification C433, F477 and C923 (these specifications relate to pipe gaskets, joints and connectors). Infi-Shield® offers a 10 year warranty on it's product materials.

How does Infi-Shield® Uni-band eliminate the use of the "concrete collar" around catch basin and manhole castings and adjustment rings?
A.) The "concrete collar" tends to crack and break over time allowing infiltration to occur. Infi-Shield® uni-band will flex with the ground movement (frost, traffic) and will effectively maintain the manhole casting and adjustment ring seal and will greatly reduce system infiltration.

Are there any special handling instructions for storage shelf life?
A.) There are no special storage requirements for the Infi-Shield® products. The products will not deteriorate due to UV radiation, moisture, sewer gases or other expected underground forces. We estimate that our products will last for the expected life of your sewer system, 50 years.

How many will I need for each adjustment?
A.) Infi-Shield® Uni-bands come in various widths to accommodate any sized structure. Contact your local representative for help with sizing

At what point during the construction project should I install the Infi-Shield® External Units?
A.) Install the Infi-Shield® Uni-band on the structure after it has been raised to its final elevation and prior to the roadway surface being placed. If multiple structure adjustments are anticipated, install the band from the top of the cone completed, install a second uni-band that extends from the lower band to the top of the casting base flange.
